Check your Fire TV Stick first

Open Settings › My Fire TV › About. If the software version says Fire OS, follow every step. If it says just OS with a version starting 1., it’s Vega OS — go straight to Step 3 and use the Appstore.
Step 1: Allow installs
- Reveal Developer optionsSettings › My Fire TV › About, then press Select on your stick’s name seven times.
- Turn installs onIn Developer options, turn on Apps from Unknown Sources or, on newer versions, allow Downloader under Install unknown apps after Step 2.
Step 2: Install Downloader
Search Downloader under Find › Search and install the free AFTVnews app with the orange icon.
Step 3: Install the player
- Player in the Appstore: install it directly. This is the only route on Vega OS.
- Not in the Appstore: open Downloader, type the link your representative sends and confirm the install.
Only install files from a source you trust — never from random links or video descriptions.
Step 4: Sign in
Choose Xtream Codes (server URL, username, password) or M3U (one playlist link), as your representative advises. Type the URL exactly, including http:// and any port number. The Amazon Fire TV app on your phone gives you a keyboard for long links.
Step 5: Keep it smooth
- Storage: the Lite and 3rd-gen sticks have little space. Uninstall apps you don’t use.
- Wi-Fi: connect to the router’s 5 GHz network if it has one, and use the HDMI extender so the stick isn’t hidden behind the TV.
- Power: use the adapter that came with the stick — the TV’s USB port often doesn’t supply enough power and causes restarts.

Does IPTV work on the Fire TV Stick Lite?
Yes. The Lite runs Fire OS, so you can install a player — just keep its storage free.
Why does my stick keep restarting?
Usually not enough power. Plug it into the wall adapter that came in the box instead of the TV’s USB port.
Can I use IPTV on the 4K Select?
Only with a player available in the Amazon Appstore, because the 4K Select runs Vega OS and can’t sideload.
Is an Android TV better than a Fire TV Stick?
Both work well. If your TV already runs Google TV, follow our Android TV guide instead — you may not need a stick at all.
